Hospitality

Hospitality starts with a space that feels just right.

Hospitality design

A guest does not experience a chair. A guest experiences a stay.

Guests should sit comfortably, move naturally through the space and feel at ease.

Routing, capacity, comfort, maintenance, materials and day-to-day operations together determine whether a hospitality space continues to work in daily practice.

Oliviero looks at that complete picture. Our expertise starts outdoors — with terraces, outdoor furniture and shade. When a hospitality project calls for it, we can also include indoor furniture.

“The true quality of a hospitality space becomes apparent after thousands of guests have used it.”

Outdoors as a starting point

A terrace has different requirements from an interior.

Sun and shade determine where guests want to sit. Wind influences the choice of parasols and furniture. Chairs are moved, tables are combined and materials are exposed to rain, UV, salt, sand or chlorine.

That is why our hospitality focus starts outdoors. Not with one particular collection, but with the question of how the space is actually used.

Outdoor furniture

Made for outdoors. Selected for hospitality.

From stackable terrace chairs to sun loungers. We select not only for appearance and comfort, but also for what happens to the furniture every day: moving, stacking, cleaning, storing and setting it out again.

That means terrace tables with stable bases, chairs light enough for staff who may move a hundred of them a day, and lounge furniture with cushions that can handle an unexpected shower. By the sea, around wellness facilities or on a busy restaurant terrace, wind, salt, sand, chlorine and sun add further demands.

Not only beautiful on day one
We also consider what happens afterwards: maintenance, wear, replacement and whether you will still be able to order additional pieces in the same specification three years from now.

What we look at

A good hospitality space continues to work when it gets busy.

The quality is not determined by an individual piece of furniture. It is the relationship between guest, space and daily operations that matters.

That is why we look beyond appearance alone.

  • 01 Guest experience Does it feel natural and appropriate?
  • 02 Routing Can staff move through the space easily?
  • 03 Comfort Does it suit how long guests stay?
  • 04 Capacity Use the space without overcrowding
  • 05 Maintenance Will it remain presentable?
  • 06 Operations Lifespan and return on investment
Indoors & outdoors

Sometimes a project does not end at the terrace door.

When we take care of the outdoor space, it can make sense to look indoors as well. For example, at chairs and tables for the restaurant, lounge or waiting areas, or other individual furniture choices that complement the project.

Not a separate proposition
We do this when it helps indoor and outdoor spaces function as one hospitality environment, rather than as a separate interior design project.
